Notes:
[1] Francois-Sebastien-Charles-Joseph de Croix, Graf Clerfayt (1733-1798) was a Walloon officer who had extensive service during the pre-Napoleonic War period. It is unclear if Clerfayt held the rank of Feldmarschall although one source said he was promoted to this grade around the year 1795. He is not listed with other Feldmarschalls of this period (Alexandr Vasilievich, Prince Suvarov; Dagobert-Sigmund, Graf von Wurmser; Archduke Karl-Ludwig).
