Notes:

[1] Francois-Sebastien-Charles-Joseph de Croix, Graf Clerfayt (1733-1798) was a Walloon officer who had extensive service during the pre-Napoleonic War period. It is unclear if Clerfayt held the rank of Feldmarschall – although one source said he was promoted to this grade around the year 1795. He is not listed with other Feldmarschalls of this period (Alexandr Vasilievich, Prince Suvarov; Dagobert-Sigmund, Graf von Wurmser; Archduke Karl-Ludwig).
