Historical uniform association "4th regiment of Infantry of Duchy of Warsaw" was settled on February 2005. The members of our association are persons of significant experience in the field of reenacting, that was realizing their activity in related association "2nd Regiment of Infantry of Duchy of Warsaw". The base of the association is based on the former pluton from Łódz-Rogów and also several persons from Warsaw.
After the long discussions we have decided to restore this regiment because of its long and its history consisting many brave, difficult moments. One of the main reasons was also the fact, that this troop was faithful the longest time to the pattern created for the Warsaw Division in 1807. It was commanded personally by the Chef-in-command of the Army of Duchy of Warsaw Prince Józef Poniatowski, that is understood as the symbol of the époque and who thanks to his attitude related to contemporary events stays close to our hearts. In our choice there had also the influence the fact that 4th Regiment (also with 7th and 9th Regiments of Vistula Legion) are the troop, that had not any longer moment to rest and stayed practically in the fire of fights during the period of Duchy of Warsaw.







Main purpose of our troop is precised reconstruction with te use of metods from the beginning of XIXth century of the weapon, uniforms and the whole rest of the equipment of polish soldiers in napoleonic period. To the field of reconstruction belongs also historical display of bivaoucs and camps of the Great Army. It is mainly the way of spending the free time in both pleasant and creative way, that is accompanied by the desire of let know the history of polish military art in the direct way. We also stay in contact with similar associations in Poland and abroad, with whom we exchange our remarks that concern the époque of our interest. We share with them also the achievements of our individual explorations in the field of uniforms and elements of equipment of soldiers in the beginning of the XIXth century.





The members of our Association took part in several historical and patriotic events in anniversaries of the battles of period of Kościuszko upraise, November Upraise of 1830 and also various number of events of this kind that concerns the anniversaries of the battles of napoleonic époque in different countries of Europe. By now in the lines of 4th Regiment of infantry there is around 15 soldiers, but constantly there are gathering new recruits. in our plan there is gathering two times more soldiers up to the next year. Our troop is trying to help to everyone that would like to join to reenacting. Thanks to this fact the expenses are reduced. There is necessary also to point out that 4th Regiment of infantry has its own armour support - Smithy of the Ancient Armour.
