1755 March 25 - Joined the army; commissioned into the Laon militia
1760 July 31 - Wounded at Siege of Warburg in Seven Years War
1762 - Took part in expedition to Portugal
1770 - Commanded chasseurs in expedition to Corsica
1770-1774 - Was member of the French garrison of Corsica
1789 March 17 - Promoted major in Medoc infantry
1791 January 1 - Promoted lieutenant-colonel of his infantry regiment
1792 October - Deprived of rank and arrested, but later reinstated
1793 June 25 - Promoted general de brigade
1794 December 22 - Promoted general de division
1795 - Fought with distinction at First Loano under Massena
1796 March 27 - First meeting with Napoleon at Nice
1796 April 12 - Battle of Montenotte
1796 April 14 - Capture of Dego; loss and recapture
1796 April 21 - Victory of Mondovi - his greatest triumph
1796 April 28 - Treaty of Cherasco, dictated by Napoleon to Piedmont 1796 May 5 - Crossing of River Po at Piacenza
1796 May 30 - Battle of Borghetto; Beaulieu's Austrian forces driven north to the Tyrol
1796 June 4 - After failure of attack on Mantua, in charge of siege
1796 August - Battle of Castiglione; invalided out
1797 January 16 - La Favorite; failure of breakout; Mantua surrenders
1797 - Took captured Austrian colors to Paris
1797 - Governor of Venice, followed by posting to Rennes
1798 - Return to Northern Italy for campaign under Scherer 1799 April 27 - Surrendered to Suvorov at Verderio - (Suvorov freed him on parole)
1799 November - Took part in coup d'etat Brumaire
1801 August 13 - Retired and shortly became vice-president of Senate (1802)
1804 April 23 - Appointed governor of Les Invalides
1804 May 19 - Appointed an honorary Marechal d'Empire (eighteenth in seniority)
1808 - Created, Count of the Empire
1814 March 31 - At Les Invalides destroyed (an estimated 1417) trophies of Frederick the Great and captured colors, as allies approached Paris
1814 - Bourbons made him a Peer of France
1815 - Loyal to Napoleon at the Hundreds Days
1819 December 21 - Died, age 77; buried at Cemetery of Pere-Lachaise
